The LTRC Welcomes the Works of Several Outaouais Artists

The Language Technologies Research Centre (LTRC) will be displaying the works of several artists from the Outaouais region throughout the building for the Festival de l’Outaouais Émergent (FOÉ). From September 8 to 11, 2011, the FOÉ will be showcasing the talents of local individuals in downtown Gatineau. Selected works by Maria Rosa, Martine Modéry, Louis-Alexandre Proulx-Desjardins, Kasandra Tremblay and Jonathan Maher will be on display for several weeks and will be available for purchase. This event is sponsored in part by the Cogniva company, as well as by the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), who is generously donating its wall space for the entire duration of the exhibition.

Partnership Between the LTRC and the University of Ottawa

The Language Technologies Research Centre is happy to announce its partnership with the University of Ottawa - School of Translation and Interpretation

This partnership is in line with the virtual integration of the Collection of Electronic Resources in Translation Technologies (CERTT) within the language technologies toolboex currently being developed by the LTRC. CERTT is an electronic resource bank that can help translation students and trainers make better use of a wide range of translation and terminology tools.

The LTRC Works with Professor Mihalache on Learning Centre Development Project

With the pending release of its new all-in-one translation tool, the Language Technologies Research Centre (LTRC) has joined forces with Université du Québec en Outaouais professor Iulia Mihalache in the Learning Centre Development Project.   Professor Mihalache has led the Learning Centre Development Project that aims to provide translation students with a know-how of translation technologies.   Click here to read the full article.

 

A Collaborative Effort Between the LTRC and Students in UQO Text Revision Course

The Language Technologies Research Centre receives help from UQO translation program in developping information pamphlet

 

The LTRC received help from third-year students in the baccalauréat en traduction et rédaction (Bachelor’s in translation and writing) program at UQO for its language technologies toolbox project. Students evaluated and revised an information pamphlet for this student-led endeavour under the supervision of Professor Louise Brunette.
 
This project comes at an excellent time; the Language Technologies Research Centre expects to release its all-in-one tool to Canadian students in translation programs in the fall of 2011.
