This service available to Parliament only
Services provided
The Debates service provides overnight translation of Senate and House of Commons proceedings. These published proceedings are commonly known as "Hansard."
Hansard
Reports of the proceedings of the Senate and the House of Commons published after each sitting day. The Debates are often called "Hansard," which is the name of the family originally responsible for transcribing the debates of the British House of Commons.
Hansard is published in two formats and in less than 24 hours:
- An Internet version, posted on the Parliament of Canada Web site as soon as it is ready;
- A paper version, delivered to Senators and Members of Parliament the next morning.
Please contact the Parliamentary Services and Interpretation for more information about the translation of debates or to request our services.
