Suppliers Located Outside Canada

The Translation Bureau has decided to reconsider its eligibility criteria regarding registration application in the Suppliers Directory for Foreign-Languages Translation Services. It will now accept registration application from translators who do not live in Canada.

However, please know that most of our bid solicitations are limited to Canadian services as defined in paragraph 2 of ARCHIVED – clause A3050T.

"Canadian service: A service provided by an individual based in Canada is considered a Canadian service. Where a requirement consists of only one service, which is being provided by more than one individual, the service will be considered Canadian if a minimum of 80 percent of the total bid price for the service is provided by individuals based in Canada."

Foreign-Languages translation suppliers who offer services provided by individuals located outside of Canada may only be invited to bid when

  1. there are less than three suppliers of Canadian services in our Suppliers Directory that meet our selection criteria, and
  2. when the work to be done is not subject to security requirements.
