Message from the Director General

The Language Technologies Research Centre (LTRC) is a unique building in Gatineau, located on the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) campus. It is an integral part of artist-glassmaker Pierre E. Leclerc’s work of art.

The LTRC, however, is far more than just a building. It’s a thriving centre of innovation and thought, fuelled by the energy of the partners and individuals at the very heart of its activities.

In fact, the LTRC represents something different to everyone. For researchers, it is a place to network with other researchers and with the language industry. For language technology businesses, it is a network place where they can receive financial or structural support for marketing technological innovations. Finally, for users, it is a service for training, accessibility and networking that revolves around language technologies.

One step at a time, the LTRC will become indispensable to the language technologies field, and this is what we strive for—at least at the national level. This is what we work towards, day after day, together with our mission’s uniqueness and our areas of activity.
